Overwatch 2 | My Interest Has Piqued. - Her Gaming World

Overwatch 2 | My Interest Has Piqued.

I absolutely love the look of Overwatch, James bought me it a few years ago and I only played it a handful of times and I just couldn't deal with the number of crap people came out with through their mic as well as this I would watch Overwatch streams and see how disgusting people were to one another and I know I shouldn't let this tarnish a game but I decided Overwatch wasn't for me and went back to Destiny. The artwork and the personalities that shine through each and every playable character call me to come and play but I can't bring myself to it and would have to get someone to play with me to help build my confidence.

It's not surprising that Overwatch has over 50 million players worldwide especially when the game has grown so vastly across the gaming world and has now been released on the Nintendo Switch which is one console I will be getting overwatch 2 on as a lot of my gaming friends have an Xbox One (which I don't play) also have a Switch so I can experience playing games with them! Blizzard recently announced Overwatch 2 which has been said will send players deeper in the world and story of Overwatch which is what I want to experience instead of a world of just PvP (Player vs Player).

In the press release for Overwatch 2, it was announced that players will be able to take on roles of the world's heroes in cooperative missions which challenge them to team up, power up and stand together against any threats that come their way. For me, this means I can immerse myself in a new world to find new characters to fall in love with! Players will be able to battle each other just like in the first game and it will carry forward existing player's accomplishments and look collections as well as feating the current complete Overwatch roaster there will new a new generation of heroes and maps which will widen the scope of the Overwatch world.

From what I have watched and seen for myself the current worlds within Overwatch are pretty fun already so I do wonder what else they could add to make it more exciting and to help explore the story side of the game. I know of a good few people who have wanted something like this for Overwatch for a while and more of a back story for the playable characters. J. Allen Brack (president of Blizzard Entertainment) said:

With Overwatch 2, we’re building the cooperative, narrative-driven game experience that players have been asking for since the original—and that we’ve wanted to make for a long time. We’re looking forward to telling the next chapter of this epic story in-game, and we’re excited to give players a whole-new kind of co-op experience built around progressing and customizing their favorite heroes—all while providing even more of everything they love about Overwatch today.

The four-player missions appeal to me a lot because I'm certain that if most of my friends get Overwatch 2 on Switch we can all team up together and swap and choose who we play with, we will be able to team up as different sets of heroes and fight to defend the world from omnic forces of Null Sector as well as uncover the motives behind the robotic armies attacks. We will be able to continue the battle in Hero Missions, this means our overwatch team will be called upon to go beyond our limits and deploy our team across the planet, defending cities that are plagued by robotic army invasions, defeating Talon agents and much much more! Having the option to replay this mode as many times as we want and level up our heroes as well as earning powerful customisation options that can supercharge our abilities in co-op mode has definitely piqued my interest.

Looking back at how I have felt towards overwatch in the past I kind of feel bad but not because it's not a great game (it is, I have seen plenty streams of Overwatch) but mainly because it can be toxic and because of this I think my main gripe is those who refuse to play with players who have only just started the game and turning it into an elite club where they're not open to coming together as a community to help others along the way but this can happy to any game with an aspect of online playing. I think having a story mode will bring a lot more new players to the game who prefer playing through a story rather than just PvP much like myself, I think story mode can either make or break a game but they also add a completely different take on the game to the one that players themselves had in their minds.

I know it's a bit early for me to be writing this post as we have a long old wait until Overwatch 2 comes out and we don't even know if they will stick with what the press release stated or how well a story mode would work with the playable characters from Overwatch but what it does show is that story mode games aren't dead and that people do still very much want to play and experience them for themselves.Tell me your thoughts on the Overwatch 2 announcement, are you looking forward to playing the story mode?
